“ Being a Nepali, I usually don't give bad reviews to Nepali restaurants and support them. However, this place needs improvement in both food and service. We had ordered C momos and chicken and vegetable daal vaat (thali). The amount of food served was good. However, there was no salt or spice in any of those (we had ordered 3/5) and upon inquiring they replied that we prepare this for American people so there might be low salt/spice. Being a nepali, I come to nepali restaurant to get authentic nepalese taste, and they could have at least tried to make it that way. Anyway hope you make those changes and offer good food to all people. ”
“ Great restaurant. Food was delicious and staff are friendly. However, they were quite understaffed when I went there, with only one person serving food and one chef in the kitchen. Despite the lack of staff, though, the food came out quick. The prices may seem high, but the portion size is very huge (for biryani, at least), so maybe sharing a single dish between a few people would do for those with normal-sized appetites. I would recommend if you happen to be in the area! ”
“ The food here is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. If you’re a chunks-of-meat eater, this can be your place. They do really good vegan food here too, according to a lifelong vegan with serious meat allergies. We stumbled onto this place purely by accident and can’t thank our lucky stars enough. As a constant consumer of all kinds of dumplings of many ethnic origins, their chicken momos are superb—plump, balanced with its meat and vegetables, not heavily seasoned, but beautifully spiced. These need no sauce, although they do come with one that I prefer to dip my naan in. You get 10 of them in a single serving. In another entree, there’s easily a half pound of cubed meat in their delicious lamb sekuwa. The portions are hefty and meant to create leftovers for the average eater. The first time we went, my husband got lamb biryani and could not finish it. He-who-dislikes-leftovers had zero problems polishing off the leftover biryani the next day. The second time we went on a last-minute whim on Christmas Eve, he went with a set meal of chicken curry daal bhaat. He had not eaten for hours and loosened his belt so he could polish dinner down to the last grain of rice in the included rice pudding. And still, we brought home naan. If I can say nothing else, we drove up from Des Moines to Lake Forest Park to eat there 3 days after we first ate there. An elderly friend of ours practically flew up from Georgetown to meet us there for dinner when I called her with no notice whatsoever. The food is truly that exceptional. Right now, this feels like a hardworking family-run, small business. They are trying to scale up their operations and seemed unprepared for the enormous traffic that holiday web ordering brings to places with incredibly good food at reasonable prices. This will not be fast. If you’re in a hurry, this ain’t your place. Please don’t say you support local small immigrant family businesses if your expectations are to get corporate treatment and throw a fit if your large, complicated order took more than 30 minutes to come together—like we watched one person do on Christmas Eve. They are not perfect, but their food is really worth the drive and wait. We are now planning our 3rd dinner there to meet family members, who just stopped by briefly to pick up a key while we were dining on Christmas Eve night. Just by the smells alone, they will be eating at the Everest Kitchen soon—with or without us. But once again, we will be driving up from south of SeaTac airport just to eat there with them. ”
“ We tried Nepali cuisine at The Everest Kitchen near Lake Forest Park. The cozy, clean atmosphere and friendly staff created a warm and welcoming experience. We started with veg tandoori momos and steamed chicken momos. For the main course, we ordered Malai Kofta paired with garlic naan; the curry was wonderfully flavorful, and the naan was fresh and soft. Alongside, we enjoyed a refreshing mango lassi. For dessert, we finished with Gulab Jamun, which was delightful. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the food and the experience. We will visit again ”
